The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) has published early proposals to reform social housing regulation ahead of a formal 2027 consultation. They want feedback on three key questions by 30 September 2026.
Join this member roundtable to discuss and begin to co-create a joint CLT Network response.
Thanks go to Paul Brannigan from Calder Valley CLT for flagging this opportunity in our member forum, Circle.
Why this matters for CLTs
This is a key window to advocate for proportionate regulation for CLT social landlords, protect community-led models from unfair “high-risk” branding and highlight how CLTs deliver genuine community accountability.
Who is this session for? All CLT Network members are welcome, but this will be most relevant for England-based groups at the build and live stage who want to share experiences from partnering with RPs, and groups that are Registered Providers of Social Housing or looking to become one.
What will happen in the session
Before this session please read the government’s proposed ideas here so you can come to the webinar with questions feedback and ideas. We will also provide a briefing with some key initial thoughts.
In this session we will look at some of the key questions and discuss your initial thoughts and feedback for our network response.
After the session we’ll review and integrate your feedback, draft a response for any final thoughts and then submit the finalised response by the 30th September 2026 deadline.
Gauging interest: Dedicated CLT landlords space
Many CLT landlords navigate regulation, maintenance and tenant engagement alone. We are exploring a dedicated online space and community of practice for CLT landlords to:
-
Share live operational challenges and peer advice
-
Co-create tailored learning and technical resources
-
Build a collective policy voice for landlord-specific consultations like this one
We’d like to discuss this idea briefly with landlord CLTs all at the end of the roundtable session.
Accessibility We will provide closed captions automatically generated by Zoom. We will be using AI to capture summaries. Please let us know if you are not comfortable with this.
