We have now submitted our response to the Mayor of London’s London Plan.

Mayor Sadiq Khan has launched the next London Plan, a strategic framework that will guide and shape the city’s development in the years ahead. This includes making the most of City Hall’s planning powers to fix London’s housing crisis, to deliver sustainable economic growth and to continue to meet environmental goals.

Last week we submitted a consultation response developed in collaboration with representatives from London-based CLTs and organisations that support community-led development: Community Led Housing London, Forest CLT, London CLT, NW3 CLT, OURI Labs, Forest CLT, NW3 CLT and Stour Trust.

Thanks go to Oliver Bulleid at London CLT for initiating discussion about this between various London-based CLTs and ourselves.

This response centres in on questions about site allocations, planning considerations, home design and stewardship of homes and communities. This also responds to wider questions about healthy communities, reinforcing how community-led development supports connected, healthy anbd well communities.

This forms part of our wider advocacy work to support CLTs in England and Wales. Take a look at our policy and campaigning updates here.
