Join us for a webinar where we will explore new changes to the National Planning Policy Framework for England and gather feedback for our CLT Network wide consultation response.
The latest National Planning Policy Framework revisions, published at the end of 2025, rewrite the framework with lots of subtle changes. These revisions are now open for consultation, and our aim is to build on previous successes by bringing together and submitting a CLT Network-wide consultation response.
Before this session we will send out a paper with our key thoughts so you can come to this webinar with questions, feedback and ideas.
In this session we will share some of these key proposed changes and invite you to share your thoughts and feedback for our response.
After the session we’ll review and integrate your feedback and draft our final response by the 10 March 2026 deadline. If you want, you can then submit your own individual responses, cribbing from our network response.
What is the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF)?
The National Planning Policy Framework sets out government’s planning policies for England and how these are expected to be applied.
Why does the NPPF matter to the CLT Network?
Standards and policies set out in the NPPF filter to decisions at local planning level. These open consultations are an important way for us to campaign collectively as a network for policy changes that can make planning for homes and community spaces easier. In the past we’ve seen collective network wide lobbying win us victories in the NPPF, such as:
-
a definition of Community-led development
-
requirements for local policies to be supportive
-
our long lobbied for community-led exception sites policy

Who is this session for? This session is open to CLT Network members only. These NPPF revisions apply specifically to English groups that will be subject to planning. However, Welsh members are welcome to join if this topic is of interest.
Accessibility We will provide closed captions automatically generated by Zoom. We will be using AI to capture summaries. Please let us know if you are not comfortable with this.
