Since CLTs are organisations that steward land and buildings in perpetuity, it’s important to engage and nurture your next generation of board members, so that your CLT can continue strong into the future. In this session, we will be joined by speakers from London CLT to discuss:
- Their tripartite board structure – where the board is composed of 1/3 residents or land leasers, 1/3 members of the wider community and 1/3 people who are public officials or bring legal, financial and housing qualifications and knowledge to the board.
- Why they chose this model
- What are the benefits and considerations
- Recruiting resident members
- How they engage interested people and nurture them into engaged community leaders.
- How they approach engagement and recruitment to make sure that people with lived experience of housing or social inequalities are encouraged to take on leadership roles
