Privacy and Cookie Policy

Introduction

This is the Community Land Trust Network website privacy policy. Please read it carefully as you should only submit information to us through this site if you agree we may use it in accordance with this policy.

We collect certain basic information about you when you visit our website. We recognise the importance both of keeping that information secure and of letting you know what we intend to do with it.

With changes to data protection law and the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation, we have reviewed our privacy notice to ensure compliance.

This policy only applies to our website; if you follow a link out of our site or leave our site in some other way, this policy will no longer apply.

The policy sets out (1) who we are and describes (2) the information we collect (3) what we do with it (4) how you can find out more.

The information we collect

We collect information from you:

  • when you complete our on-line forms
  • by means of ’cookies’ when you use our site, and
  • in the form of ’traffic data’.

Online forms

In general, we will collect the information we need to provide you with the service to which the form relates. For example, if you subscribe to e-newsletters, we will collect your email address. The information you provide as part of our Membership registration form will allow us to create an account and provide you with access to Member resources upon payment of a subscription fee.

If we ask for further personal information, such as a phone number or address, we will explain why we are asking and how it enables us to provide the best possible service. We will not ask for information that is not relevant to helping us delivering a service.

We collect information on your CLT group and associated projects. We may share this data with other stakeholders such as local enabling hubs or government agencies, this will not be linked to your personal data, and will only appear in anonymised form. We also have a map of CLTs in England & Wales – this is based on the general location of CLTs only and any group can be removed upon request.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer’s hard drive by websites you visit to enable the site to ’remember’ who you are. In general, cookies are only visible to the site that serves them, not to other websites. ‘Serves’ means places on your computer’s hard drive.

More information on the cookies we use can be found in the cookie section at the bottom of this page.

Traffic data

We keep a record of traffic data which is logged automatically by the server. This includes your IP address, the website address you visited before ours (for example if you found our site through Google or were referred to our website through a link on another website), the website address you visit if you click through a link from our website to an external website, and which pages you visit on our site. We do not store or analyse this traffic data in a way that identifies any individual. We also use Google Analytics for site statistics – see ‘Cookies’ above for details of how this works.
