Naked House CLT, London

In brief: One of the perils of the private rented sector in a superheated housing market is the transience of life; moving continually between tenancies and boroughs is an inevitability for many caught in the squeezed middle - and the consequences can be enormous, not least for younger residents unable to live near their work, or delaying starting a family because they can’t guarantee a stable residence. This is the core market for Naked House Community Builders, an award-winning idea to create basic starter homes which owners can finish and modify over time. They are looking for a site to put their proposals into action.

Why they are part of the programme: Naked House started as a community of interest, rather than a community of place, and offer an interesting insight into a CLT taking a people-first, place-second approach - as well as a great model for new build development.
