Proof of Concept Community Land Trusts (January 2012)

Community Finance Solutions published its 'Proof of Concept' for Community Land Trusts in January 2012. The proof was written by Dr. Bob Paterson and Prof. Karl Dayson, co-founders of CFS and records the development of the CLT movement and demonstrates how twelve communities have been able to practically implement the CLT model. Delivering Homes and Assets with Communities:
The Cornwall Community Land Trust Project (2010)

Cornwall Community Land Trust is a countywide umbrella Community Land Trust that has successfully delivered a number of CLT properties in Cornwall and has gained wide recognition for their work. This report, by Tom Moore and Roger Northcott, reviews the activity of Cornwall CLT as a fresh demonstration of what CLTs can do.

Then We Will Do It Ourselves: A Report on rural Community Land Trusts (2008)

This report is the final output of the rural strand of the Community Land Trust National Demonstration Programme (2006-2008). It covers the key issues for rural CLTs and demonstrates what is possible when the ingenuity and hard work of local communities is matched by a progressive approach from local authorities and funders.

 

Community Land Trusts: A Practitioner's Guide (Community Finance Solutions, 2007)

This guide aims to give help in getting started and is a useful reference tool throughout the various stages of a project. It is not intended to be comprehensive but seeks to include tools, technical resources and contacts for anyone developing a Community Land Trust project.  The practitioners guide contains reference to a number of exhibits which are designed to illustrate the support and provide legal and financial tools to assist CLTs with their development.
