Already a member of the National Housing Federation?

If you are a CLT and already a member of the National Housing Federation and would like to also be part of the National CLT Network please let us know by contacting Catherine Harrington on catherine.harrington@housing.org.uk or 0207 067 1191. We will give you the same rights as full members of the Network at no extra cost.

Full membership

Why should I become a member?

Specifically tailored to meet the needs of a CLT or CLT Umbrella that is developing or has developed homes or other community assets, full membership offers a number of benefits including:

  • Directors and Officers Liability Insurance, worth over £11,500 per year, including professional indemnity cover for board/committee members and all staff for up to £7.5m;
  • 25% discount on National CLT Network and National Housing Federation training, events and conferences;
  • 25% discount on National Housing Federation publications;
  • Free VAT advice;
  • Coming soon : free legal advice;
  • Copies of the Directory of members and access to the online directory to search member data by size, region, local authority and Google maps;
  • Rights to vote and join the Board of the National CLT Network;
  • National representation and lobbying to Government;
  • Free policy briefings;
  • Access to the Members Only area of the website.

Am I eligible? Only if you can demonstrate that you comply with the CLT definition as set out in Section 79 of the Housing and Regeneration Act 2008, and meet our "Conditions of membership" criteria, set out on our application form.

 

Emerging CLT membership

Why should I become an Emerging CLT Member?

Specifically tailored to meet the needs of emerging CLTs who are not in a position to become full members but would benefit from:

  • Discounts to National CLT Network training, events and conferences;
  • Access to general advice on setting up and running a CLT;
  • Free policy briefings;
  • Access to the Members Only area of the new CLT website;
  • National representation and lobbying to Government;

Am I eligible? Only if you define yourself as a CLT but are at early stages of development and don’t have any units, or are an individual setting up a CLT in a voluntary capacity.

 

Associate membership

Why should I become an Associate Member of the Network?

If you are not a CLT but work with CLTs or want to support the CLT movement, Associate membership is for you. Benefits for Associate members include:

  • Discounts to CLT Network events, training and conferences;
  • Free policy briefings;
  • Access to the Members Only area of the new CLT website;
  • Access to other members of the Network, including the CLT Network Contact Database (terms and conditions apply);
  • National representation and lobbying to Government;

Am I eligible? Associate membership is for organisations or individuals that work with CLTs or support the CLT movement.

 

Member cost

  • Full membership with zero to 50 units: £550*
  • Emerging CLT membership: £50* Half price for 2011/12! (normally £100)
  • Associate membership: £200* (£30* for unwaged individual)

* Cost per annum on a pro-rata basis. VAT not applicable.
