The National CLT Network is governed by its Members, who vote at Members' meetings and stand for election to the Board of trustees. The Network's Member Plus package is designed for maturing organisations.
This is for you if: you are an established CLT with an identified project complete or underway. To be eligible to join as a Member of the Network, you must meet (or be working towards meeting) the statutory definition of a CLT.
Member Plus includes: All the benefits listed above as well as bespoke and comprehensive Directors and Officers Liability insurance. There are a number of benefits to securing your insurance through the National CLT Network, including:
- Bespoke coverage from a leading UK insurer;
- Access to professional insurance advisers who will be happy to guide you on all aspects of your insurance placements;
- A wider definition of Insured Person, including all directors, officers, trustees and employees;
- Cover for individuals in respect of claims arising out of their provision of advice;
- Cover for former members in respect of wrongful acts committed whilst a member;
- Cover for defence costs incurred by the CLT itself in relation to Corporate Manslaughter or regulatory Investigations
- Access to free advice lines (legal, health & safety, tax and stress counselling).
This package is specifically designed for CLTs working with housing association partners and do not need bespoke Directors and Officers insurance. The Member package includes the same benefits as the Member Plus package, except it does not include the bespoke Directors and Officers insurance. You should take care when deciding which membership is more appropriate for your organisation.
This is for you if: you are an established CLT with an identified project complete or underway but do not need Directors and Officers Liability Insurance. It may be that you're working with a housing association partner, for example.

Please note that as part of joining as a Member Plus or a Member, we ask that you complete an Organisational Health Check. This is a self-certification exercise designed to assess your standard of governance and is primarily an internal tool for your use. The National CLT Network is committed to maintaining the quality reputation of its membership, and we may refuse to register a new member where we feel their practices do not reflect a good standard of governance as a CLT.

Our Start Up affiliates are those groups which want to start a CLT or are in their first year of operation as a CLT, but which aren't yet ready to join as Members. Our Start Up package is designed to provide all the necessary resources to start out and progress as a CLT.
This is for you if: you are a new CLT and have not yet incorporated or identified your first project. This affiliation option is open to new organisations for one year only - after that time, we hope you will be ready to join as a Member or a Member Plus.
Our Associates programme is open to professional organisations and individuals who wish to be associated with this vibrant and growing movement. Our support package provides opportunities for partnership and promotion within the sector, to help you grow your involvement.
This is for you if: you are not a CLT but want to know more about, and support, the sector.
