Cashes Green CLT : green development on eyesore land

Cashes Green Community Land Trust will be the first in England to deliver housing development on HCA land. Ownership of the land (excluding the outright sales) will be vested in the CLT, with a 125 year lease to the housing association.

78 homes are planned, including 20 for rent, 19 for shared- equity ownership and 39 for open market sale.

The plans incorporate use of derelict hospital buildings, turning a physical eyesore into a community owned asset. Green spaces and community allotments will also be available.

Development will take place between Gloucestershire Land for People, acting as umbrella CLT, and Hab Oakus, a joint venture between Hab (development company founded by Kevin McCloud of Grand Designs fame), and the Green Square Housing Group.
