Worth Community Property Trust : regenerating the parish by the community for the community
Worth CPT, in Dorset, was established to build affordable homes for local people, responding to high house prices in the area. A second phase hopes to deliver other community assets such as a village shop, and to provide more job opportunities in the local area.
5 homes on a rural exception site are anticipated for completion in March 2012, and will be available for rent by local residents. The total capital cost for the 5 homes has been estimated at £840,000 and to finance the construction phase of the project WCPT have developed a lease agreement with Synergy Housing Group.
