Current campaigns

We're currently running an inquiry into new sources of housing supply as part of the National Housing Taskforce. Take a look and submit some written evidence.

Our members helped us to lobby candidates in the run-up to the General Election in May 2015. Since then we have focussed on three key issues which you can read about on the live campaigns page.

We'd welcome anybody contacting their local MP about our manifesto and the current campaign issues to help us keep the pressure up. Scroll down to download the media and lobbying packs for helpful suggestions on how to go about this.

If you join the mailing list we will update you on live issues where you can make a difference, for example by lobbying your local MP at a critical moment for our lobbying work.

“Community Land Trusts offer fantastic inspiring examples of how people can come together to create solutions to the economic challenges they face. CLTs are springing up across the country, building affordable homes and helping create a more social economy. The Social Economy Alliance fully supports the campaign for politicians to make CLTs a key part of addressing the critical housing problem in this country.” Dan Gregory, Director, Social Economy Alliance.

"The Nationwide Foundation has been a key funder of Community Land Trusts for six years. During this time we have witnessed the crucial role that the National CLT Network plays in supporting and expanding this approach to creating affordable housing, in both rural and urban areas.  We hope that the next Government listens carefully to views of the National CLT Network and recognises that community land trusts are an important component to deliver more affordable housing". Gary Hartin, Programme Manager, The Nationwide Foundation

"The Building Social Housing Foundation is keen to see the growth of CLTs as one of the forms of community-led housing which are addressing some of the flaws in today's housing markets, helping to reconnect communities, generate great social value and provide genuinely affordable homes", Jennifer Line, Building Social Housing Foundation

"Garden Cities and Community Land Trusts go hand in hand in the creation of a socially and economic sustainable community. If a new settlement doesn't have a CLT model in its DNA then I can't see how it could be called a garden city". Philip Ross, Chair of the Garden City Alliance
